

The area of Laurens, New York was settled in 1774. The Village of Laurens was incorporated in 1811. In 1860, the village had a population of 726 and contained a tannery, an iron foundry, a sawmill, and a cotton mill that was powered by water from Gilbert Lake. The current estimated population in the village is 263 based on the 2010 census.
Candidates are needed to run for Village Trustee.
There are two openings for
2-year terms.
Village Caucuses will be held the third week of January.

Village elections take place on March 18, 2026.
The term begins on April 1, 2026.
